NODE
01: NORTH OF THE AVENUE
The
Standing Stones of Calanais, or simply, the Callanish Stones, encompass
one of the world's most impressive prehistoric monument sites. Three rows
of stones radiate from the central ring toward east, west, and south.
An avenue of two parallel rows of stones stretch to the north. The central
ring of 13 stones encircle a single monolith and a chambered tomb discovered
by Sir James Matheson in 1856. Here at NODE 02 we travel further down
the Avenue toward the central ring.
